“Loving the Noumenon*”

Drawings, Paintings, Sculpture and Installation Work

Roma Devanbu

February 6th - March 1st

Second Saturday Reception: February 14th, 6-9PM

Excerpt from the Press Release:

“Loving the Noumenon” is Roma Devanbu’s first solo show at Axis Gallery.

Devanbu’s deeply rooted devotional life is matched by a logical, practical, even skeptical side, creating a tenacious quandary. How can we love what we can not know exists? In “Loving the Noumenon” Devanbu presents drawings, paintings, sculpture and interactive installations which embrace, and invite engagement with, this paradox.

*Noumenon: In Kant’s phylosophy the Noumenon is the thing which cannot be known through sense perception. The Noumenon is “the thing itself”.
